Whether you are at a doctor's office or in the Emergency Department there are certain steps of the admitting process that must be completed before you are admitted to Rebecca Sealy Hospital.

A hospital representative will review with you a document called the Patient Bill of Rights . The representative will answer any questions you may have. You will be given a copy of these rights for you to keep and you will sign the original copy of the rights which will be placed in your medical record.

You will also review and sign the consent to treatment form. The consent to treatment allows
the doctor and the staff to treat you for your illness. Keep in mind that you can ask questions
at anytime regarding your treatment and care at Rebecca Sealy Hospital

Financial and Insurance information will be gathered at this time also. Admission staff will contact your insurance company to request authorization for your treatment. If you do not have insurance or the treatment if not covered by your insurance plan, the admitting staff will develop a payment plan for you.

The admission process can seem complex and we are aware that you are already experiencing a difficult time in your life. Therefore, we have specially trained admitting staff and it is our hope that we make the admission process as easy as possible for you.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at 409 - 747-8301.
