UTMB Department of Psychiatry - General Residency Application Requirements

The Program accepts seven first-year psychiatry residents each year. Appointments are made in accordance with the National Residency Matching Program. Selection is based on the following:

1. Completed application, submitted via ERAS.

2. USMLE Transcript

3. Dean's letter and transcripts

4. Three letters of recommendation.

5. A biographical sketch, including reasons for seeking training in psychiatry.

6. Applicants for combined general and child training must indicate when interview is scheduled.

7. Completion of an interview at UTMB.

Deadlines

Applications for PGY-1 positions will be accepted through the ERAS system only and should be submitted no later than January 1 for appointment beginning July 1 of that year.
