Preceptorships

Program Description:

Students will have individualized clinical experience under the supervision of an attending psychiatrist.  The goal of this experience is to help the student to develop a greater understanding of the role of psychiatrists and to train those students who plan to enter primary care specialties in critical aspects of psychiatric diagnosis, treatment, and triage. 

Application Proces - How students are to apply:

Students should fill out an application form if they are interested in doing a pre-clinical preceptorship in psychiatry.  Applications can be printed from the following link:

and should be recieved by March 30, 2009.

What experiences are offered and when?

Various faculty in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences participate in the preceptorship program however spaces are limited.  Our goal is to match students with particular interests.
